Sandstone is a type of flagstone, or natural stone, that we often use to build patios. If you have a pool area, then it is a great choice because the stone is very porous and can absorb a lot of water. This means there is less risk of slipping around the pool.
The stone also lasts for a lifetime with the proper cleaning and sealing practices in place. Sandstone comes in warm, earth tone colors such as beige, cream, orange, and light brown. This stone will be a bit costly, as it will be about $34-$43 per square foot for the materials cost. Since it does last for many years, though, it is a sound investment for any shape or size patio.
